The purpose of the Poster Award is to call attention to the exceptional research presented during the SBMM Congress poster sessions, and to recognize outstanding students whose posters demonstrate both excellence in research and clarity of presentation. The winners selected by the Scientific Commission will be awarded the "SBMM 2009 OUTSTANDING PRESENTATION" certificate with the following prizes: 1st place: $500.00 BR and free enrollment in the IMC17 - International Microscopy Congress to be held in Rio de Janeiro in September 2010. 2nd place: Free enrollment in IMC17 3rd place: Free enrollment in IMC17 The winners will receive the prizes during the closing ceremony. SBMM 2009 OUTSTANDING MICROGRAPH SBMM will award prizes to 2 micrographs for each major area (2 from Biology and 2 from Materials). Both students and professionals may participate. In order to compete, the participants must submit their micrographs online until October 10th by filling out the submission system form with the following data: - Title of the Micrograph (in English); - Brief description containing data on the material and technique used (in English); - Author's details; - Micrograph in a .jpg file, size 20 X 24 cm (maximum of 2MB); - Resolution of 150 - 300 dpi (please avoid 72 dpi); Image without compression. Only online enrollments of unpublished micrographies will be accepted. Micrographs should combine art and science. The winners will receive the "SBMM 2009 OUTSTANDING MICROGRAPH" certificate and the following prizes: 1st place - $300, 00 BR and publication in a 2010 SBMM post card. The card, to be distributed to SBMM's members, will contain the title of the micrograph and the author's name. 2nd place - Publication in a SBMM 2010 post card. The card, to be distributed to SBMM's members, will contain the title of the micrograph and the author's name. The winning micrographs will also be published on the SBMM's website. The winners will receive the prizes during the closing ceremony.
