General Information

Besides the discussion of multidisciplinary themes in microscopy area, this congress also reinforces a tradition held by the Brazilian Society of Microscopy and Microanalysis of stimulating courses and workshops in different aspects of microscopy and in techniques of samples preparation. The congress has this time chosen the slogan “Training Microscopists” in view of the relevant role of this event in the development of human resources. This year we have increased the number and range of the pre and post congress courses, as well as its geographical distribution throughout the country.

The aim is to provide a greater access to basic knowledge and advanced techniques in the field of microscopy throughout the country. The activities are developed as mini-courses, lectures (themes of interest for both the main areas), panel sessions and parallel symposiums of cutting edge themes in microscopy. The symposia are independently coordinated by researchers appointed by the members of the Organization Committee. The participants of the Congress of the Brazilian Society for Microscopy and Microanalysis are invited to send technical and scientific contributions in the themes of the symposiums in the form of oral or poster presentations. The participants submit extended abstracts in English, which include one page of their work and an illustration.
