To welcome the participants of the congress, the SBMM has scheduled the following activities for the first day of congress:

Opening Ceremony
Time: 7 pm
Venue: Hotel Ouro Minas - Auditório (Auditorium)

“Travessia” (Journey), a performance by the “Ponto de Partida” group

Time: 7:30 to 8:30 pm
Venue: Ouro Minas Hotel - Auditorium

In its 26 years of existence, the Ponto de Partida has become an independent traveling theater company, composed of 20 permanent professionals and staging 26 different shows. The Group has made a name for itself, systematizing the creation and production of processes and methods, formed partnerships and built one of the most consistent repertoires of Brazilian drama. Ponto de Partida has launched a new kind of singing method. It´s a singing method learned at the heart of the state of Minas Gerais. It comes from the very core of the state and has spread throughout Brazil, and across South America, Africa and Europe.
Travessia is not just a performance or a drama. It’s a delicious mixture which takes audiences on a journey. It tells the story of the labor, the struggle and the celebrations of the Brazilian. Taking a journey through our music in the company of the likes of; Villa Lobos, Tom Jobim, Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Caetano Veloso, Elomar, Gonzaguinha and many others... Travessia is music being dramatized, it is sound made into images.

Opening Cocktail – “Mineiro Happy Hour” Menu
Time: 8:30 to 10:30 pm
Venue: Ouro Minas Hotel
Soon after the Opening Ceremony and the performance by the Ponto de Partida group, the SBMM offers a grand cocktail party in the event’s exposition area. The menu includes typical Minas Gerais’ dishes such as a platter of regional cheeses, grilled polenta and fine smoked cuts from the farm.

Dinner Party
Time: 8:30 pm on
Venue: Xapuri Restaurant

Let’s toast to the success of the event!

The Dinner Party is for all participants of the event and their companions. Price is: R$65,00 per person. Transportation from the Ouro Minas Hotel will be provided.

The dinner will be an excellent opportunity to savor the cuisine of Minas Gerais with a relaxed atmosphere and live music.

Xapuri Restaurant
Away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, the Xapuri is much more than a Minas Gerais’ cuisine restaurant; it’s a rustic and charming place, a true refuge for the body and a delight for the soul. There, you can enjoy good conversation while delights such as; grilled “linguiça” (Portuguese pork sausage), “Sinhá” rib and home made desserts parade in front of you. All of that accompanied with the sound of the viola and accordion of the Xapuri country trio.
